Course Description:

Explores the basic elements of narrative from a number of different perspectives. Considers what stories are, how stories are communicated, and how audiences receive them. Concepts are applied to analysis of media texts in film, radio, TV, and new media. Explores alternatives to, and contemporary transformations of, classic narrative structure. Pays special attention to contemporary narrative trends, in particular the effect of new media on storytelling.
